Before designing, I conducted archival research into the festival’s visual and cultural history, reviewing programs and posters dating back to 1969. This research grounded both the visual direction and editorial tone in the festival’s long-standing values.

Each year, the festival staff collaboratively selects a theme and poster through consensus. I used the final poster as the foundation for a cohesive design system.

I researched sustainable printing options, contacting multiple vendors to evaluate materials, cost, and timelines.
The final program was produced locally using offset printing on recycled paper with soy-based inks, making it fully recyclable or compostable.

Designs were refined through staff feedback and review cycles. Final files were delivered for print and digital publication days before the festival, followed by on-site delivery of thousands of programs throughout the festival grounds.

This project strengthened my ability to design systems that balance storytelling, usability, sustainability, and production constraints—skills vital to UI/UX and product design work.

The design work I did in 2024 was a formative experience where I developed core skills in visual design while learning how to work within real-world constraints, including tight timelines, budget limitations, and large-scale production requirements.
The insights I gained, directly informed my approach to the 2025 program.
